IDEAS FROM OUR CALENDAR FOR SPRING FUN IN CHICAGO:

  • Maple Syrup Tapping - Head to the forest preserves and see how the trees are tapped and the syrup is made.  Hurry, 'cause these events generally end by late March.

  • Movies - Indoor - Many libraries and sometimes theaters have free / cheap family movies - find one here.

  • Story Time - Catch a story time at an area library, bookstore, or other business. There are lots of fun places that host these events for younger kids.

  • Music and Concerts - Tap your toes and boogie down with the kids at a kid-friendly concert.

  • School Day Off Events Find events here hosted by businesses specifically on days when the kids are out of school.

  • Kids Eat Free - Get the lowdown on where your kids can eat for free.  There are chain restaurants and more upscale eateries too!

SOME OF OUR FAVS:

  • Top Golf - It's like bowling, but with golf.  Great fun for ALL ages above 3 or 4!

  • The Morton Arboretum - The Children's Garden is fabulous and full of climbing structures, water features, trees (of course), plants and daily activities.

  • Cantigny Park - Where else can kids climb on real live army tanks?  Pack a picnic, bring a frisbee or football and make use of the beautiful grounds.

  • Pirate's Cove - PERFECT little amusement park for the young ones.

  • Fair Oaks Farms  A bit of a drive, but the whole family will enjoy visiting this huge operating dairy farm.
